Terrarium Care Guide and Policy

Thank you for visiting Glasshouse Tropicals, Please take a minute to review our terrarium care and policy page.

Light:

Choose a bright spot with lots of natural light, do not place in direct sunlight all day as this will overheat your terrarium and kill the plants. If you lack sufficient natural light a halo grow light or a lamp with a grow light will work wonders and let you enjoy your terrarium in the evening as well .

Condensation:

Condensation is normal especially in the mornings, If you notice its constantly foggy pop open the lid for 10-15 mins until it clears up then put the lid back on. You can also wipe it out with a paper towel, if needed.

Watering:

All of the enclosed bioactive terrariums require minimal watering if any at all. Make sure to observe your plants, if they look droopy just a dribble of water is needed, I do not mist them as to much moisture on the leaves can cause rot. The lantern terrariums are not sealed therefor will require weekly misting to stay hydrated and  healthy.

Maintenance:

Choosing how you want your terrarium to look as it grows is a personal preferance. You can choose to let it run wild or trim to keep it tidy. Dusting the lid and cleaning the outside and inside of the glass regularly will help with optimal light exposure. I do offer a free maintenance refresher if you choose to bring it over.
